has a number of attractions to see. All these tourist places are
very closely located and can be easily covered at a stretch. The
temples, gardens, lakes and falls of Mussoorie are
much popular among tourists from all over. Apart from that, the hill
station also features some of the oldest churches that are a
must-see for everyone. Given below is a list of all the famous
tourist places in Mussoorie.
Camels Back

The place derives its name from a camel's hump shaped rocky
outcrop. The life-size rock is also visible from the Mussoorie
Public School. One can enjoy a 3 km long nature walk here,
as the Camel's Back Road begins from Rink
in Kurli Bazaar and runs till Library Bazar. A pony ride is
also a nice option to enjoy sightseeing here. Unlike the Mall, there
is less crowd here and one can also have heart-stirring views of the
sunset in the Himalayas from this point. For couples and
honeymooners, it's a good place to enjoy some quality time.
Vinog Mountain Quail Sanctuary

It is a fine place for bird lovers. Established in the year 1993,
the Vinog (or Benog) Mountain Quail Sanctuary spreads
over an area of around 339 hectares. The Mountain Quail,
an extinct bird species, was last seen here in 1876. The sanctuary
is located at a distance of 11 km south of Library Point in
Mussoorie.
Lal Tibba

It is the loveliest as well as the highest place in
Mussoorie. Located in Landour, the Lal Tibba
captures the memories of the British Era. It is also the
oldest inhabited place in Mussoorie. British
period architecture can be seen here even today. One can take a
horse ride around the place to enjoy some wonderful views. The
Japanese telescope (installed here in 1967) gives some excellent
views of the Himalayan ranges and foothills.
Sarkunda Devi

The hill temple of Surkunda Devi is also a major
tourist attraction here. The temple lies at a high altitude of
10,000 ft and is only accessible on foot. Hordes of red, yellow and
orange flags adorn the temple. From atop the temple, one can also
enjoy splendid views of the valley. The temple is located at a
distance of 35 km from Mussoorie.
Bhadraj Temple

For trekking enthusiasts, Bhadraj is an ideal place in
Mussoorie. The tourist spot occupies a place towards the
far western region of Mussoorie. The place is known for some
absorbing views of the Doon Valley and the ranges
of the Garhwal Himalayas. The Bhadraj
Temple or the Bhadrak Temple is situated on top of a hill
and is dedicated to Lord Bhadra, brother of Lord Krishna.

are available from Mussorie to reach the spots. These are ideal
places to arrange picnics or for bathing.
Jwalaji Temple

Perched at an altitude of 2,104 m atop the Benog Hill, the
Jwalaji Temple is a must visit for all. The temple features
an idol of Goddess Durga, manifestation of supreme
beauty and deadly power in the Hindu mythology. Bird's eye view of
the Yamuna Valley can be enjoyed from here. Dense
forests circle the temple site.
